The Proposal

Hello April!

The day you have been patiently waiting for has finally arrived!

The Plan has almost come to an end. I’m sure you have a lot of questions about The Plan so you can read all about it here. It’s up to you whether you read it before we proceed or after. The choice is yours.

… I thought so. You can visit The Plan page at your leisure.

Let us begin.

In front of you are several items. In no particular order, they are:

  • a note
  • an iPad
  • tulips (self explanatory)
  • champagne flutes
  • chilled champagne (for if you say yes)
  • a bottle of scotch (for if you say no)
  • a mysterious box with a lock

In the words of Brad Pitt’s character in the movie Se7en, what’s in the box!? What’s in the box!?

In true form, I have not made this easy for you, but I hope I have made it fun! After all, this is a moment worth savoring so let’s not rush things.

By now, you’re undoubtedly asking yourself “what the hell do I have to do to get a ring on my finger?”

Well, all you have to do is wait two years and pass a series of tests. The hard part is over and your two years are nearly up. Now you will be quizzed on how well you have paid attention during our relationship. Questions may include places, people, events, and things I have said while you were “listening”. I can see the panic in your eyes… but that’s what the champagne is for!

Obviously, you have seen the note and have arrived at this website via the iPad so you’re off to a good start!

The object of the game is to get to the end where you will find out how to open the lock that is guarding the contents of the box in front of you. However, only a perfect score will show you the location of the key.

The rules are quite simple. Sit back, relax, sip some champagne, and follow the instructions.

The Proposal Quiz

Our story begins a couple of years ago. We were both working for the same company but rarely worked together. In fact, I believe that you thought I was an arrogant engineer who cared little for communication or client service. You soon realized that you were in error [something that you would grow quite accustomed to in our relationship 🙂 ].

I was rising quickly through the ranks and started “breaking in” your new girls. No, that isn’t a euphemism for anything. Every time I had a kick-off call with a new client, you and one of your girls joined me for her first client call (I’m still not convinced that was just a coincidence). This is when we started working together and perhaps it was when you first realized that I wasn’t just an arrogant engineer… believe it or not, I had people skills!

Only a few weeks later, we parted ways professionally but soon started our personal relationship. This is where the quiz begins.

You need a perfect score so I hope you’re ready!

P.S. Look for hint buttons if you’re not sure of the answer.
